With no clear indication of available, busy or out of service, the customer picks the wrong lane, has to change queues and leaves with the impression of a disorganised store.
With 8 or 20 terminals in the self-service area, knowing where a call came from means walking the aisle. The information exists in the system, but never leaves the screen.
Putting an indicator on each terminal usually runs into the power point available at the counter. Without power from the equipment itself, every station becomes a separate case.
The LR6-USB is powered and controlled by a single USB connection. That allows the signaling to be integrated into the equipment's system without a separate power supply for the tower.
