Industrial signal tower — PATLITE LR series

The status of every machine, visible from across the plant

When a cell stops, every minute before someone notices is output you never get back. LR series towers connect to the digital output of the PLC the machine already has and show the status at a glance — no new software, no construction work.

You need a solution for…

Losses that do not show up as scrap or rework. They show up as a shift that produced less than it should have.

The downtime that took too long to be seen

The machine stopped at 9:12. The operator noticed at 9:15, went to find the team leader, and the leader called maintenance. The log records the downtime, not the minutes lost before anyone noticed it.

The supervisor who walks to find out

Without visual indication, the only way to know the status of the shop floor is to walk it. Whoever coordinates spends the shift moving between cells instead of deciding from the aisle.

The alert the noise swallowed

In a noisy environment, an audible warning alone does not get through. And a weak light disappears under the plant lighting. The signal has to beat both the noise and the ambient light at the same time.

The change that demands an electrical project

Extending the signaling usually runs into the voltage available at the panel and the mounting type. Without a family covering 12 V DC, 24 V DC and 100–240 V AC, every station becomes a separate case.

One tower per station, and the plant starts explaining itself

The LR series turns information locked inside the equipment into information the whole shift reads at a glance.

A response that starts before the call

The tower lights up the moment the condition changes. Maintenance sees the colour from across the plant and is already on the way — no radio, no extension, no one having to go and tell them.

Andon with no construction and no new system

The tower connects to the digital output of the PLC the machine already has. It requires no extra software and no change to the equipment logic: it is information that already exists, made visible.

A colour code the entire shift understands

Green running, yellow calling for attention, red stopped. The reading is immediate for operator, team leader, maintenance and visitor — including for someone who joined this week.

Light and sound in the same body

The version with an 85 dB buzzer adds an audible alert without taking up another mounting point or requiring a second unit at the station.

Why choose this solution?

One family for the whole plant

Four diameters, from 40 mm to 70 mm, and three voltage ranges. The same visual standard covers everything from the bench station to the one that must be read from afar.

Mounting that adapts to what is there

Wall with direct wiring, L-bracket, pole, DIN rail and a connector version. The choice follows the panel instead of demanding an adaptation.

Unambiguous product code

Each configuration matches a Part Number describing model, modules, voltage, mounting, buzzer and colours. That removes the back-and-forth of emails to confirm what will be delivered.

    Frequently asked questions

Does the Part Number determine the product configuration?

Yes. On the LR series the code identifies the model and diameter, the number of modules, the rated voltage, the mounting type, whether there is a buzzer, the body colour and the colour of each module from the top down. That is why the form does not ask for those characteristics again: they are already in the code.

    How do I choose between LR4, LR5, LR6 and LR7?

The difference is the body diameter: 40 mm, 50 mm, 60 mm and 70 mm. The larger it is, the further away the tower can be read. The choice depends on the reading distance in your plant and the space available at the station.

    Which voltage should I choose?

The one available at the panel the tower will be wired to. The series covers 12 V DC on the LR5, 24 V DC on all models and 100–240 V AC on the LR4 and LR6. Some mounting options depend on the voltage chosen — the configurator only offers valid combinations.

Do I need new software or a new PLC?

No. The tower is driven by the digital outputs of the controller the machine already has. There is no dedicated software to install and no change to the equipment logic.

Can I quote different configurations in the same request?

Yes. Each configuration added becomes its own row in the form, with its Part Number and its quantity field. That is the common case for anyone with stations that have different needs in the same plant.

Do you help with choosing the product?

Yes. If you are not sure which configuration suits your operation, describe the scenario in the message field and the Shinwa technical team will reply with a recommendation.
